Just stopping by to share some pictures of a cake we made a couple of weeks ago. We definitely have little to no skill at cake decorating, but it's something fun to do every now and then. We are, however, skilled at making delicious cakes from scratch!

Leveling off each layer

Adding the fill

Adding the crumb coat

We didn't take pictures of the final layer of frosting or the piping (it was done in a hurry on a different day) But here's a look at the final result. We won't be trading in our cameras for piping bags anytime soon, that's for sure.

Matt is coming home today! I was pretty shocked by the teddy bear in the last entry, but I was even more shocked to find a riddle in my e-mail every single morning with clues pointing to yet more cards, hidden all over the house. I won't spam up this post with all of the individual shots, but here's a nifty mosaic of everything I found.

Matt is out of town until next Monday.

I'm sad.

But!

When I arrived back at home after dropping him off at the airport, I found this waiting for me:

I think I'll keep him.

Our sweet dog-face is getting some more outside fetch time since the weather has been giving us teasing glimpses of the warm temperatures to come.

If Dex could do nothing but play fetch outside all day long, he'd be one smilin' pooch.

So.. you gonna throw it?

Stumpy legs? No problem here.

The grass is getting greener! Just a few more dead spots to clear out. Yay Spring!

..but keep the gas masks handy, because those stinky Bradford Pears are in full bloom. Run away!

Naptime!

I witnessed a rare occurrence over the weekend when I spotted Dexter snuggling with Matt on the couch in our office. This is a rare event because although Dex is a very friendly pup, he is also extremely hyper! So, I knew this needed to be documented and grabbed our little point and shoot camera and grabbed these shots. He is such a sweetie!

iGoogle, do uGoogle?

I would not be exaggerating too much if I said that Google runs my life. My iGoogle homepage is my cockpit, and keeps me up to snuff on things.

From one page, I can see snippets from recent e-mails, my calendar for the coming week, my Google Reader feed to keep me caught up on the blogs that I follow, the local weather forecast, and top news stories. Also, I can link directly to my active Google Documents, which Matt and I keep shared between our accounts to keep track of our task lists and related things, business and personal. Google keeps me organized, at home and on the road! What would I do without it?
